"Bell Canada launched its new “Connected to Communities” community investment program in January 2005. In tandem with this launch, we engaged GrantStream to help us effectively manage donation requests within our areas of focus and streamline our internal processes. GrantRight® is utilized by 25 individuals within the company and across the country which has enabled our entire team to respond in a timely and consistent manner to requests. The customer support we received from GrantStream allowed for a smooth transition and has given us more time to devote to value-added activities that support our charitable programs and community partnerships. GrantRight® has proven to be a great investment for Bell." |

“In 2005, we made some changes to our community investment program to focus on engaging the communities where we have operations. We currently use GrantRight® to manage our corporate grants and donations but weren’t sure if it could handle the unique aspects we’d built into our new program. We needed to incorporate maps and develop a reliable process for screening the eligibility of applicants – our new program was only available to very specific communities and organizations within those communities. The GrantStream team listened to our needs and 99% of the time, they told us it could be done. Now, we don’t have to photocopy and distribute documents to our community sites and review panels; we have one consistent format that is readily accessible over the Internet. GrantRight® has become one of the initiatives we talk about when asked about operational efficiency.” |

"When we created our foundation in 2004, we were faced with the challenge of merging two internally developed – what I like to call “homemade” – databases into one. Each database was only accessible to the person who managed it; creating progress reports and tracking our commitments was a very manual and time consuming task. GrantStream got involved and became a facilitator. They not only responded quickly to our needs, but they anticipated what we were looking for. They transferred all the information from our old databases into one, easy-to-use database that is accessible to a broad number of administrators and reviewers. Most importantly, we were able to keep the history from our old databases intact. Today, we have fewer people managing our donations program but we are able to do a better job at responding to inquiries from applicants, from our staff and from other key stakeholders. And producing reports is a breeze!” |

“When we were comparing GrantStream to other potential software providers, there were several factors that made them stand apart. First, they are cost effective relative to other products on the market and there are no hidden fees or surprises. Second, their internet-based solution provides us with global access. Third, they are 100% Canadian owned and operated. Their technology is developed by people with a background in community investment and knowledge of the Canadian nonprofit and charitable sector. And last, but certainly not least, both their products and their customer service team, is fully bilingual.
“Since we started using GrantStream, we’ve realized the benefits of this software ten-fold. Their customized reporting capabilities are easy to use and incredibly flexible. Multiple users can access the system at one time. Training is provided and the GrantStream staff is endlessly accommodating and consistent in their prompt response to our needs. We believe GrantStream is at the leading edge of its field. Working with them has been a pleasure.” |

“GrantRight® has been a marvelous solution for Pfizer. We were getting so many paper applications – it was difficult to keep everything straight. Applications would get misplaced. The format was never consistent. The great advantage of GrantRight® is that it’s an online solution. Everything is in one place, in one format. As a reviewer, I can easily look for information on the form because it’s consistently presented in the same way every time.” |

“Managing both data and attachments was a big challenge for us when it came to finding the right grant management solution. Our Shell Environmental Fund required unique information from grant applicants and we spent hours manually entering the data we received. We hired GrantStream because of their user-friendliness; they translated our database and application needs into a technological solution that really works for us. Now, we receive our applications online saving hours of administrative time and ensuring consistency and accuracy.” |

“Before GrantStream, we were using a server-based program to house our community investment data. We found it lacked the flexibility to give us what we really needed: a cost-effective way to involve our entire community investment team across regions and reduce the administration costs associated with reviewing grant applications. Now that we are using GrantStream, our regional representatives are able to manage local community investments more efficiently and they have direct access to information company-wide. An added bonus was there was no need to purchase separate licenses for each user, install software on their machines and manage the technical support internally. As a result of implementing GrantStream, we estimated an approximate 25 per cent cost reduction in administration costs.
“Another really important factor for us was the quality of reporting. With one central repository of information, we can produce reports quickly and are able to use that information to measure and evaluate the impact of our programs. Our reports are tailored for our business needs and internal audience. It has become an effective communication tool that allows us to engage our Management team in our community investment initiatives.” |
