| Our community commitment |
|
We are committed to building strong, healthy Canadian communities. That means:
- supporting the charities and nonprofit organizations that work tirelessly to support us;
- encouraging our employees to volunteer their time and especially their skills;
- reducing our environmental impact; and,
- operating our business in a safe and responsible manner.

We currently support charities and nonprofit organizations that are local to our community and/or particularly important to our employees. We also support the organizations in which our employees volunteer. And since volunteer opportunities often occur during the workday, we provide each employee with 16 hours / two days of paid time each year to volunteer during normal working hours. Bereavement donations are made when an employee loses a loved one.

| A story of giving |
|
Last year, with the Christmas season approaching, our staff got together to discuss how we could give back as a company and as individuals. We decided to contact Halton Women's Place (HWP) to see how we could help a family in need. HWP operates as a shelter and support centre for more than 700 women and 400 children every year. And they are in our community. Armed with a list of items for our "family", our employees shopped on their own time and the company provided gift certificates for food and other essentials. Pajama's, books, art supplies, a toaster oven and many more things were checked off the list and added to our package. Together, we were able to make one family's Christmas a bit brighter. |
